New Zealand competitor and rally sponsor, Tony Gosling, will head across the Tasman in November to contest Rally Australia for the first time. Currently competing in events at home in a classic Ford Escort RS1800 and Subaru Legacy RS Turbo, the Stadium Cars owner will switch to a front-wheel drive car for the November 17-19 event. Gosling has leased one of Ron Cremen’s Citroen DS3-R3 cars for the WRC round, with regular co-driver Blair Read calling the pacenotes. They are the second Kiwi pairing to lease one of Cremen’s Citroens, with a second car to be driven by Western Australian-based Mike Young. Young’s co-driver will be Malcolm Read, the brother of Gosling’s co-driver Blair, so there is sure to be plenty of sibling rivalry on offer during the event. It will be Gosling’s first entry in a World Rally Championship event, with the car to be sporting Stadium Finance livery.
