Kent Lawrence and Chris Nunn in their Plantec-sponsored TE Gemini have won round two of the  Silverstone Tyres Queensland Gemini Series.

The 1300 NEW GLASS Border Ranges Rally was conducted by the Gold Coast Tweed Motor Sport Club on April 28 in the area around Urbenville in northern New South Wales.

The event attracted 44 entries with seven Gemini Series cars entered. Series favourite, Cameron Sluce, was out in only the third stage with engine failure. Myles Frost unfortunately rolled in stage two, causing extensive damage to his TF Gemini.

All stages were closely fought out with only 10 seconds separating all entrants in stage one. Second place went to the Beaurepaires Toowoomba supported crew of Nathaniel Dillon and Greg Bankin, only 29 seconds behind Kent Lawrence. A further 41 seconds behind in third place was Tim Dillon, in his first year of competitive driving, with his dad Adrian calling the corners.

The next round of the Silverstone Series will be conducted in June in the Jimna State Forest.
