WA rally driver Brad Markovic will be motivated by a sense of ‘unfinished business’ when he takes on round two of the CAMS Australian Rally Championship (ARC), the Make Smoking History Forest Rally, this weekend.

“It was absolutely heartbreaking,” he said. “So, that will definitely motivate me when we’re back out there.”

Markovic said the home crowd would also spur him on: “We get great local support and it’s always a thrill to compete in your home state.”

The MSH Forest Rally will be run on fast forest roads around Nannup with special evening tarmac stages in front of big crowds in Busselton on both Friday and Saturday nights.

“There’s a good mix of road conditions and the unique WA road surface makes it an interesting event,” Markovic said.

After round one of the ARC, the Eureka Rally in Ballarat last month, Markovic is eighth in the ARC championship standings and is the highest-placed WA driver.

Of round one, which was his first outing with co-driver Toni Feaver, he said: “It was great to come away from the Eureka Rally with a solid haul of points, despite a few mechanical issues.”

“I’m super excited to get back in the car with Toni to showcase what we’re really capable of.”

Since the Eureka Rally, Markovic’s Subaru WRX STI has been fitted with a new engine and had its suspension rebuilt.

“The Auto One Subaru is feeling great thanks to the Maximum Motorsport team,” Markovic said.

“We’re ready to get out there and claim a top three finish to say thanks to our supporters - Auto One, Castrol, Supercharge Batteries, Kincrome, R-Group International, Wesfil, P1 Racewear, Modena Engineering, Maximum Motorsport and Subaru Motorsport Parts.”
