Holden Barina driver Josh Marston and co-driver Andrew Graves have taken out the Westland Rally in NZ's south island.
Second place went to another AP4 car, the Skoda Fabia of Job Quantock, while Marcus van Klink was third in his popular Mazda RX8.
Matt Summerfield was fastest out of the blocks in his new Mitsubishi Mirage AP4, before striking engine trouble in SS2 and retiring from the event.
“Stoked to take the win to be honest,” commented Marston. “We were just hoping to be quick as it is a blind rally and the roads are so fast.
“Gutted for Matt (Summerfield) as they were always going to be good competition. Job (Quantok) was great and proved very quick and therefore pushed us all the way.”
“The car has been great, it is a rocket, particularly with our MRF tyres on board," Marston added.
"I cant say enough about it. I’d like to think we will be competitive this season in the nationals. Certainly we want to take the fight to Ben (Hunt) and with Matt (Summerfield).”
