In a tribute to Colin McRae, his family have insisted the legend’s famous Perthshire Forest Stages Rally must go ahead this Saturday.
The 120-car Colin McRae Forest Rally event is now expected to become a gathering point for fans flocking from around the country to pay their respects to the world class driver. The rally world was left in shock at the sudden and tragic death of the rally legend in a helicopter crash recently.
Grieving members of his own motoring group, the Coltness Car Club who organise the Perthshire rally and were close friends of Colin, had considered cancelling the prestigious rally as a mark of respect to the popular driver.
Colin’s wife, Alison, and dad Jimmy, have urged the club to go ahead with the event as planned.
