- 8th April 2017, 4:25am
Citroen’s Kris Meeke is the overnight leader at Tour de Corse, round 4 of the World Rally Championship.
He holds a 10.3 second lead over reigning World Champ Sebastien Ogier (Ford Fiesta), with Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville a further 15.5 seconds in arrears.
Meeke won three of the day’s four tarmac stages, with his C3 performing brilliantly on the sealed roads of the French island.
Fellow Citroen driver Craig Breen finished day one in fourth place, with Dani Sordo (Hyundai i20) in fifth.
Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota Yaris), Hayden Paddon (Hyundai i20), Stephane Lefebvre (Citroen C3), Andreas Mikkelsen and Stephane Sarrazin, both in Skoda Fabia R5s, rounded out the top ten.
Tour de Corse resumes on Saturday with four mountain stages (two stages each repeated), covering almost 132 kilometres.
