The entry list for the World Rally Championship component of Kennards Hire Rally Australia has been released, with more bang for your buck than many spectators had originally expected.

Esapekka Lappi heads a two car Skoda team at Rally Australia.Along with 10 World Rally Cars, the list also features a number of high profile WRC2 teams, including the factory Skoda squad, which makes its first visit to the Coffs Harbour based rally.

Volkswagen, Hyundai and M-Sport (Ford) have all entered three cars in the main game, while Italian Lorenzo Bertelli will also contest the event in a Fiesta RS WRC.

New Zealander Hayden Paddon will be in with a big chance for victory in the event, but he’ll have plenty of tough opposition from the WRC’s best.

In WRC2, the inclusion of Skoda pair Esapekka Lappi (Finland) and Jan Kopecky (Czech) are the big surprises, with the experienced pair running Fabia R5s in their quest for the WRC2 title.

Both drivers have competed in Australia before, although that was in Queensland as part of Skoda’s Asia-Pacific Rally Championship program.

The leading Australian in the field is Brendan Reeves in his Subaru, to be followed by local hero Nathan Quinn, Harry Bates, Ryan Smart and Molly Taylor. ARC leader, Simon Evans, is entered in the ARC field, for which entries don’t close until October 27.

Thirty-six cars have entered the WRC field. The full entry list can be seen at www.rallyaustralia.com.au by CLICKING HERE.
