The world's fastest ever female rally driver, Michele Mouton, has been appointed the manager of the World Rally Championship. Â Â Â She will be responsible for the co-ordination of all aspects of the championship, including safety, regulations and the calendar.
Mouton will represent the sport's governing body on the majority of WRC events, working in close collaboration with the manufacturers, promoters and event organisers.
"This is a very exciting and challenging opportunity, especially at a time when President Todt wants to significantly increase the profile of the sport and take it to new heights," the four-time WRC winner for Audi said.
"I am looking forward to working with all the WRC stakeholders; together I believe we can bring new dynamism to our spectacular sport."
