Final preparations are being completed and crews have begun arriving for the 2016 running of the Brakes Direct Border Ranges Rally.
Kiwi Derek Ayson will drive Ed Mulligan's Ford Escort in this weekend's Brakes Direct Border Ranges Rally.Run as Round 4 of the MRF Tyres Queensland Rally Championship, the event will be launched on Friday evening by the MRF Tyres Rally Forum.
Starting at 8:30pm at the Kyogle Golf Club, the panel format will be hosted by the always entertaining Ed Mulligan. An active participant of the sport for decades, Ed has a special talent for extracting the best out of panel members, who include Jack Monkhouse, Derek Ayson (who has made his way across the Tasman to compete in this event), plus a mystery guest.
Spectators will be see the field three times at the famous Hillyards from 10:30am, and twice at Toonumbar from 11:45am.
Opening the roads will be the awesome Audi Quattro S1 E2 Replica of Mal Keough, followed by the rest of the Zupp Property Group Classics before the MRF Tyres Queensland Rally Championship takes over.
Recent rain in the area has caused the final showdown in the showground to be cancelled, so crews will complete the event after the final running of the Hillyards special stage.
