Current Australian Classic Rally Champions, Neal Bates and Coral Taylor, are hoping to return to the Australian Rally Championship in 2014 in their Toyota Celica.
Bates’ impressive Celica was the pick of the driver/car combinations in this year’s ARC, and also beat a classy field to win the International Classic Rally of Otago in New Zealand in April.
Although Bates’ budget for the 2014 season has not yet been finalised, long-time co-driver, Coral Taylor, told RallySport Mag that a repeat of the 2013 program was their preferred option.
“Of course we’d love to return to New Zealand to defend the Otago Rally title, but we’ll just have to wait and see what funds we have available,” Taylor said.
The Australian Rally Championship gets underway with the National Capital Rally in February, while the Otago Rally will run in mid-May.
