The hills and pine plantations of Jimna State Forest, two hours north of Brisbane, were ignited and set alight with the annual running of the Philcomm Rally.

The forestry stages played host to a field of 30 competitors battling slippery roads and challenging conditions, across 190 kilometres of competitive stages.

Due to the demanding road conditions, a high attrition rate took precedence by taking out several teams and keeping service crews in check. Nine of the 30 competitors failed to complete the full eleven stages, with several vehicles leaving the road, a vehicle rollover and others suffering major mechanical failures and destructive panel damage.

Outright victory for the 2010 Philcomm Rally went to Mark Neary and Lynnford Stephenson, in their MAN Rigging and Construction Subaru WRX STI. A close second place was taken out by Rob Bishop and Jo O’Dell in their Mitsubishi Evo 1, and third place standings were wrapped up by the Evo 6 of Wayne Menzies and Chris Baxter.
