Latest event news from the Mt Buller Sprint team follows:

"As you are probably already aware, the date of the 2009 Mount Buller Sprint has been changed from the Melbourne Cup Weekend to the first weekend of December.  We believe that this will not only offer competitors better road and weather conditions, but also allow Classic Adelaide competitors scope to compete.

Touring Event
The 2009 Mt Buller Sprint will be running a Touring Section as part of the Competition Schedule. We are inviting a select few motoring enthusiasts to register for this experience. If you know of someone who would like to join in on the event please forward our details. As a Touring Competitor you will experience the thrill of driving the competition section of the event under closed road conditions behind a pace car. This will be done twice daily and your vehicle can be displayed at the Classic Car Show in the Mt Buller Village.
The entry fee of $350.00 includes: A.A.S.A. Insurance and Permit Fee, Vehicle Decals and Signage, Official Merchandise (shirt and hat), Entry to Official Functions, Personal Event Identification Tag. As there will only be a limited number of 30 entries available, you are urged to contact us promptly at tim@mountainmotorsports.com.au to reserve a place in a great weekend of motorsport.

Pike's Peak Update
Recently Tim attended the Pike's Peak Hillclimb in Colorado - our sister event.
'The Event blew me away... I couldn't believe the scale of it. The road is amazing. It goes from tarmac to dirt, to tarmac and finishes on dirt. In the next few years the entire road is being sealed, which will guarantee that the current record (10:01.4 seconds) will be smashed by a minute or so. Marcus Gronholm was competing in a Fiesta and the event was won by 'Monster' Tajima. I'm going back next year and am looking for a few extras to join me who want to experience Pike's Peak first hand or who would like to compete in the future......

Lake Mountain update
We are pleased to announce that the next running of the Lake Mountain Sprint will be held at the end of March 2010. Most of the infrastructure at Lake Mountain was destroyed in the fires and the rebuilding program should be completed over the summer months. After the devastation of the Black Saturday bushfires and the resulting damage to infrastructure, accommodation in Marysville is virtually nonexistent and as such we have organised accommodation in surrounding areas. The local community is keen to host the event again and we are looking forward to supporting the businesses affected by the bushfires in and around Marysville. Please pencil this into your diary as we will be limiting entry numbers would love to see all of you up there."
