WRC gamers can experience every twist, turn, bump and jump of the world’s legendary speed tests through a new range of gaming chairs introduced by market leader Playseat®.
The WRC-branded chairs allow fans to experience the same sensations as those enjoyed by their real-life heroes behind the wheel as they tackle the sport’s most extreme roads at more than 200kph.
Playseat® is a world leader on the gaming simulator market and the WRC chairs support PlayStation, Xbox and PC platforms – an ideal match for the new WRC 6 official video game which will be released on Friday 7 October.
WRC Promoter managing director Oliver Ciesla said Playseat’s new chair would bring increased realism to gamers looking for ever-increasing lifelike experiences.
“Playing WRC at home and in tournaments is increasingly competitive, as we continue to see in our own eSports WRC Championship which is based on the successful franchise of WRC video games,” said Ciesla.
“Gamers are looking to replicate the sensation and the performance that real WRC drivers enjoy on the stages and the Playseat® gaming chairs provide just that. They will quickly become a must-have accessory.
“October will be a great month for WRC gaming fans. The launch of WRC 6, the official game of the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship, on Friday 7 will be followed by the final of the eSports WRC Championship at Dayinsure Wales Rally GB on Sunday 30,” he added.
Fernando Smit, founder and president of Playseat®, said top motorsport competitors used the company’s simulators as they accurately reproduced the feeling of driving a competition car.
“We’re very excited to be working with WRC again. Our brands strengthen and complement each other. Together we can provide WRC fans with the ultimate racing experience,” said Smit.
