'Amongst the anger and anguish of the one-make Kumho tyre problems that surrounded Rally Tasmania last weekend, Scott Pedder’s drive to victory shouldn’t be overshadowed.

Regardless of whether Pedder had better or worse tyres than his opposition, the cold facts are that he drove a flawless rally, pushed all the way by Simon Evans – a three-time Australian Rally Champion.

His return to the championship was a memorable one, and as a tarmac rallying novice (having only contested the Mt Buller Sprint previously), his drive was even more remarkable.

“It’s been 20 years since a Pedders Suspension Rally Team round victory in the ARC,” Pedder said after the event.

“It’s just a very special way to return to a championship that I truly love.”

Brother Mark, who finished fourth, hadn’t contested a rally for five years, making it the perfect return to the ARC for the Pedders team.

Now the pressure will be back on when crews hit the gravel of Western Australia for the QUIT Forest Rally on April 16-18.
