Non-championship entries for opportunities, says Adamo

Speaking before the Neste Rally Finland, Andrea Adamo, Hyundai’s team director said his team embarked on the series of mid-season non-championship rally events for a mixture of opportunities.

His team competed in non-WRC events in Estonia, Ypres, Vosges and Alba.

“On one side the possibility to do more miles with the car allowed us to check the reliability of new components that we are testing for the next sessions, in order to homologate them,” Adamo said.

“As you know, we have a limited number of test days so I don't really wish to waste them to just make miles on the car. 

“On the other hand, running the car in Italy, Belgium and France has allowed us to have a much higher audience and the involvement of national subsidiaries and guest journalists and a much higher visibility of the Hyundai brand in these countries where we are doing lots of activities and communications. 

“Of course in France, in Italy and again in Belgium, it has created a lot of attention and for the Hyundai brand, and this is very important.
