November date likely for Mitta Mountain Rally

A new date for the re-scheduled Mitta Mountain Rally is expected to push the Victorian Rally Championship into late November.

The scheduled March event was postponed at the last minute due to the COVID-19 situation and the organising team are currently working with relevant authorities about a new date.

The North Eastern and Albury-Wodonga District Car Clubs run the event in conjunction with each other.

"The organising team is currently liaising with the local community, local authorities and the Victorian Rally Panel to determine if and when a new date can be scheduled," North Eastern Car Club President, Scott Mann said. 

"Upon the last discussion, early November was looking to be a likely candidate."

It is understood that the Mitta event will use the date of the North Eastern Rally.

The North Eastern Rally is a Victorian classic which has not run for almost 20 years.

A return for this event may have to wait until 2021.
