Five-time New Zealand Rally Champion, Richard Mason, is in a desperate search for a major sponsor after his 2015 funding fell through at the last minute.

Mason has entered the first round of the NZRC in Whangarei on the weekend of 17th-19th of April, but currently cannot fund any further events.

“We have been working real hard to find the necessary funds to mount our normal professional campaign,” Mason said, “and we thought we were almost across the line last week, but unfortunately this opportunity has fallen through.

“So now we are urgently seeking help to make contact with anyone who would like to join forces with us as we go for our sixth championship.”

Last year was a stellar season as Mason set a raft of new records in the 40 year history of the New Zealand Rally Championship [NZRC] on his way to a record fifth national title.

Richard extended his record count of NZRC round victories to 28 and his co-driver, wife Sara, has now reached 25, making her the most successful NZRC co-driver ever.

The Masterton Flyers won an unprecedented 5 of the 6 rounds that made up last year’s Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship.

Mason is running a competition via his Facebook page to try and secure funding for his 2015 campaign.
