The 2007 Classic Rally of Otago will screen on Network 10 this Saturday, from 12.00pm to 1.00pm.
This will be the first time that the New Zealand-based classic rally has screened on Australian television. The producers of the program, Black Magic Media, have put together a one-hour package from the event, which includes the best action from the rally, including exciting in-car footage.
Organised by the Dunedin-based Otago Sports Car Club, the Otago Classic Rally has quickly grown to be the foremost classic rally in the southern hemisphere, attracting many international drivers, including former World Rally Champions.
This year’s rally was won by New Zealander Deane Buist in a Ford Escort RS1800, and included 12 Australian drivers. Four of these, Geoff Portman, Darryn Snooks, Peter Whitten and Michael Boaden, finished in the top 10.
Newcastle-based production team, Motorsport Memories, has also produced a top quality 2-DVDÂ set on the event, which is available here.
