Organisers of the 2008 Otago Rally are again offering a generous Assistance Package for overseas competitors who bring their rally car to the event, valued at over $1000.
With the popularity of the Otago Rally, and in particular the Dunlop International Classic Rally of Otago, increasing every year, the limited number of packages are expected to be snapped up quickly.
In particular, Australian competitors have made the most of the Assistance Packages offered and have attended the Otago Rally in big numbers.
The Assistance Package for the 2008 event includes:
• Two extra tickets for the Prizegiving Dinner (plus two included with entry)
• Service Crew for the event (may be shared with other competitors)
• Four nights accommodation at the Rally Hotel for two people on a share twin basis.
• Two extra motorshow tickets (4 included with entry)
• 2 VIP Spectator passes
• DVD of TV coverage of event
• Two Rally Otago beanies.
Competitors from overseas who lease or use a NZ registered car will still be eligible for the package, but excluding the service crew.
The package will be supplied to the competitor on arrival in New Zealand, and is conditional on recipients carrying advertising supplied by the organisers.
“The Dunlop International Classic Rally of Otago continues to grow at an amazing rate, and the Otago Sports Car Club are keen to encourage even more overseas competitors to take part,” Clerk of Course, Norman Oakley, said today.
“Many of the stages for the 2008 rally have been changed, but we will still use all the favourites from previous years, so new competitors to the Otago Rally, and those who’ve done the event in the past, will thoroughly enjoy the rally.”
The 2008 Otago Rally will be held on May 10 and 11, and will again be based out of the Southern Cross Hotel in Dunedin.
