Factory Hyundai driver, Jari Huttunen, finished in third overall – and second in class – at the recent Rally Bohemia. It was the Finn's first start in the i20 R5 under the Hyundai Poland Racing banner. On his less favoured tarmac surface, Huttunen won two stages overall, and topped the R5 class in another two as he held the lead overall for a vast majority of the opening day ahead of crews comprised of local drivers and tarmac specialists. A set-up change to start the second day failed to improve the handling of the car further, allowing those chasing to move ahead of Huttunen and co-driver Mikko Lukka. However, their strong pace was enough to maintain a place on the podium to continue their good form after winning the WRC 3 class at Rally Sweden earlier in the season. The rally was won by Vaclav Pech in a Ford Focus RS WRC '06, six seconds ahead of Jan Kopecky's Skoda Fabia evo2. Huttune was a further 43 seconds in arrears in third place.
