The Polish Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, the organisers of Rally Poland, and WRC Promoter GmbH have signed a contract concerning the organisation of Poland’s FIA World Rally Championship round in 2017.

Confirmation of the final 2017 FIA World Rally Championship calendar will be announced at the FIA World Motorsport Council on November 30th, 2016.  This eliminates the doubts about the event’s status expressed in the recent FIA World Council meeting.

Many improvements are currently in hand.

Andrzej Witkowski, president of Polish Automobile and Motorcycle Federation said “The service park is vitally reorganised, including a change of surface.

“We didn’t forget about the roads constituting the special stages either.  Key changes included mainly safety features and organising devoted areas for spectators during the rally.

“The access system to the special stages for the media functioned well, which was underlined by feedback from journalists. I have no doubt that a very good cooperation with the WRC Promoter will pay dividends”.

This news indicates that there will now be at least 13 rallies in the 2017 WRC, leaving open the plans for China and a possible return to Turkey.
