Xevi Pons drove a Prodrive-built Aston Martin Rally GT on the Rally Osona in Spain last weekend and finished second overall.
Pons teamed up with Prodrive customer, Baporo Motorsport, for the event. The team is running the Rally GT on selected events in this year's Spanish Tarmac Championship.
The car performed faultlessly throughout the rally enabling Pons to set top four stage times on every test.
"This is a fantastic result and demonstrates how competitive the Rally GT package is," Prodrive's special projects manager, David Campion said.
"The feedback from a driver of Xevi's calibre is invaluable as we continue to develop the Rally GT as an asphalt rally car."
Pons, who will make his debut for the Subaru World Rally Team on the Rally Finland next month, is due to get his first taste of the Impreza WRC 2007 this week in Germany.
