RallySport Magazine are again providing the official spectator tour for Rally Australia, and we spent three days this week driving around the Coffs Harbour area looking at spectator locations and planning for this year’s tour.
Perhaps the best thing about a World Rally Championship round based in Coffs Harbour, on the mid-north coast of New South Wales, is that it’s not far to the stages. From the service park near the Coffs Harbour airport, it’s never more than 45 minutes to the stages – a real plus for spectators.
The competitive stages that we drove are simply superb. The road surface is smooth and wide in most instances, and action from the world’s best drivers will be worth travelling a long way to see.
In many areas the countryside is a lot like New Zealand, and spectator locations offer great viewing of the cars, often for up to a kilometre at a time.
Part of the attraction of being on the Official Rally Australia Spectator Tour is exclusive locations that take you to places that the general spectators can’t access. Our exclusive “Tour Only” locations will provide rally fans with up close viewing, but without the huge crowds expected at the general spectator points.
Tour participants will stay at the tropical Aanuka Beach Resort, where you can relax and enjoy the four pools and the beachfront access, should the rallying get too much for you.
The Coffs Harbour community is right behind Rally Australia and it promises to be one heck of a rally.
Make sure you don’t miss out on the action!
