The Car Auctions Sydney Rally of Lithgow will be the first round of the NSW Rally Championship, to be held on May 12.
Plans are underway for what should be a great event. Car Auctions Sydney have stepped up as the naming rights sponsor and, along with Lithgow Workers Club and Lithgow City Council, they have secured strong backing and support from the local area.
The event will start and finish in Lithgow and utilise all the great roads in the Hampton area, including several that have not previously been available due to forestry operations.
The event will have approximately 150km of competitive, centralised service, easy spectating and some other features that the organisers believe are a little innovative – which will be announced at a later date.
The organisers have negotiated discount accommodation deals in Lithgow and these bookings will be handled centrally by the Lithgow Tourist Information centre, ranging from budget to 5 star pricing.
The format will be the same as in previous years with pacenoting on Saturday morning (a set of prepared "Safety Notes" will be supplied as a base for those of you not 100% comfortable with writing from scratch, as well as a comprehensive road book should you not wish to run on notes).
