Gawler will host two days of Scouts Rally SA special stages at the Gawler Showgrounds in 2014, including a dramatic Sunday afternoon finale, after a successful night of rallying was held in 2013.
The expanded schedule will see Saturday, August 2 host a night of Australia's best rally drivers battling the clock for the win around a new and improved course contained within the Gawler Showgrounds complex giving spectators an even better view.
Sunday, August 3 will for the first time see Scouts Rally SA finish with a spectator friendly super special stage and podium presentation to East Coast Bullbars Australian Rally Championship and South Australian Rally Championship competitors at the Gawler Showgrounds.
The new format promises to bring spectators closer than ever to the action and bring thousands of people to Gawler across the weekend from all over Australia.
Brian Sambell, Mayor of Gawler, is enthusiastic about the new expanded program. "The first Scouts Rally SA in Gawler was terrific and the council are glad to welcome the event back to our town. Not only does this increase visitors to Gawler during the event but provides us with a unique way to promote Gawler to the world."
Scouts Rally SA Clerk of Course Ivar Stanelis sees great potential to continue to expand on the success of 2013. "We have really looked at how we can work more with the Town of Gawler to put on an even bigger and better event, and we hope that there will be more innovations launched soon which will benefit both the town and Scouts Rally SA."
Scouts Rally SA will be the fourth round of the 2014 East Coast Bullbars Australian Rally Championship and the third round of the 2014 South Australian Rally Championship. It will be held on the roads surrounding Gawler, Mount Crawford, Mount Barker and the Barossa Valley from August 1 to 3..
