The Southern Districts Car Club has joined forces with the Amy Gillett Foundation, with the Foundation being announced as the dedicated charity of the 2008 asp Adelaide Hills Tarmac Sprint Rally.

As round 3 of the South Australian Rally Championship, the event is already breaking new ground as being the first and only tarmac round of an Australian State Rally Championship, and now the rally will raise both awareness of cyclists and motorists sharing the road, as well as much needed funds for the continuing work of the Foundation.

The Amy Gillett Foundation's primary objective is to reduce the incidence of injury and death caused by the interaction between cyclists and motorists. In doing so, they hope to promote a safe and harmonious relationship of shared respect between the two groups.
