The big names continue to sign up to compete in rallycross – the world’s fastest growing motorsport.

Justin Dowel (left) and Will Orders fight it out in round one of this year's RXAus Championship.

The new RXAus Rallycross Championship has really taken off with exciting, wheel-to-wheel competition, and round two of the series in New South Wales on May 14 will be no exception.

A host of new competitors will compete in the event on the Marulan track, near Goulburn, headed by former Targa Tasmania winner, Steve Glenney.

A vastly experienced and successful driver on both tarmac and gravel, Glenney could well be the man to beat in his Tech-Sport Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9, despite this being his first entry in the new RXAus championship.

He joins the father and son duo of Darren and Arron Windus, both Victorian Rally Championship event winners, and stars in their own right.

Windus senior will drive a Lancer Evolution 9, while 20-year old Arron will be behind the wheel of the ex-Sean Bolger Mazda.

Also new to the series are Aussie-based Irishman Richie Dalton (VW Polo S2000) and Jamie Sargeant in a VW Polo S2000.

They join regular Australian Rallycross front-runners Will Orders (Mitsubishi Lancer) and Justin Dowel (Hyundai i20) in what promises to be the most closely fought rallycross event to date.

Situated 15 minutes from Goulburn, and just two hours south of Sydney, the Marulan event is round two of the five-round Australian Rallycross Championship.

The success of the series is already seeing new venues making bids to host rounds of the championship in future seasons.
