Entries are starting to roll in for round one of the Victorian Club Rally Series, which gets underway on April 29 at the Cooper Memorial Rally.
Presented by the Western District Car Club, a great mix of 24 entries have been received to date including Luke and Renee Sytema (Ford Escort), Neil Schey/Scott Middleton (Ford Escort) and the competitive returns of Matt Lee/Annie Dougherty (Subaru WRX) and Luke Simpson/Ryan Humphreys (Hyundai).
Based in Noojee, just under two hours east of Melbourne, the event will see competitors tackle the popular forestry roads surrounding nearby Powelltown.
The area which hosted the Australian Rally Championship from 2010 to 2014 and countless club rallies before and since, presents crews with some real driver’s roads, consisting of a mix of fast flowing and twisty technical sections.
In a departure from recent years, the rally is to be conducted in a daylight/night format with the action kicking off with four stages from 2pm.
With minimal transport distance, 138 competitive kilometers, some of the best roads in the state and a strong field already building it’s sure to be an event not to be missed.
