Preliminary information on the Seemore Motorsport Series

The organising team – Ian Crook, Stuart Lister, Steve Richards and Peter Ellis, supported by Ian Gilhome as Secretary, Mike Foreshew as Chief Safety Officer, Joe Wilson as Chief Scrutineer and many more are pleased to announce the first Round of the new Seemore Motorsport Series for 2011. We trust it will be Rallying As You Like It!

Victorian and other States’ competitors and officials will perhaps have noticed four rally events attributed to Ian Crook or Stuart Lister or Seemore Motorsport Equipment in the 2011 Victorian Rally Calendar.

It is intended that these will run as calendared; all will be closed road special stage rallies and will run in general terms to the same protocols as the May 2010 Seemore Stages. Simple, safe, good fun rallying. Rallying as you like it!

Planning and information for the March 19 event is, of course, well under way and there is a DSE Permit on hand at this time. The event utilises the fabulous roads of the Wombat Forest near Daylesford.  Route instructions are predominantly written; Steve Richards will be completing the remainder during his holidays and at the time of writing, the Supplementary Regulations are believed to be imminent.

There is information about the event via this link:-

http://www.2wdrallymaster.org/Events.html

We will be issuing Supplementary Regulations shortly. These will be:-
•    emailed to participants in the May 2010 event, including those who showed interest but were unable to compete for one reason or another
•    emailed by 2WD Rally Master admin to intending competitors in Round 1 of the 2WD Rally Masters series and
•    will be available from the Event Secretary at: secretaryround1@seemore.com.au

It is expected that the event will provide for 60 starters; we expect a great deal of interest from Victorian and interstate competitors because of the reception of the 2010 pilot event and the role of this event in the 2WD Rally Masters competition. The event is run in the heart of Spa Country, one of Victoria’s major tourism destinations so a wide choice of accommodation is close at hand. Ballarat is also less than half an hour away.

We encourage all categories of vehicles to apply but please be advised, we intend to offer priority to 2-WD vehicles; all wheel drive, 4WD’s of various types including for instance, Pajero and Range Rovers, Rodeo-like utes who enter will be notified of their confirmed places at least 7 days before the event is run. Thos who we are unable to place will, of course receive a complete refund of their entry fee.

The series and sponsors

We intend to run the four events as a series and are now looking for series and event sponsors. If you are interested in the potential to support this initiative and /or these events, please contact Peter Ellis at communications@seemore.com.au or via 0419 002 007.
