Following a successful debut year in the British Rally Championship, Australian Molly Taylor is continuing her assault in 2010. This time she will be moving up to the Citroen Racing Trophy, a one-make series running within the British Rally Championship.

“2010 will be the first year in my five year plan to reach the world stage and I am really looking forward to the challenge. I am very excited to also have the continued support from the Australian Motor Sport Foundation and Virtual Display Group,” the 21 year old said.

Like any form of motor sport, budget is always the pivotal factor in putting the season together. To raise the remaining funds required, Molly has started a Supporters Group.

She said, “My aim is to find 100 companies/individuals to each support my Team with a $500 investment. I have been able to put together a package including a television deal and other exposure opportunities to add value, in return. I am only looking for small amounts from each Supporter, but numbers add up and every little bit will go a long way.”

Molly came within a whisker of winning the 2009 Suzuki Swift Sport Cup, only losing out when a fuel pump failed in the final round, whilst leading. It was Molly’s first year living in the UK and she’s made the serious commitment to return in 2010 to pursue her goal of reaching the World Rally Championship.

“2010 offers the opportunity to ramp-up the learning curve.  The Citroen Racing Trophy offers strong competition, and the British Rally Championship (BRC) offers a diverse mixture of gravel and tarmac events.  It’s a great championship in which to build your skills, and a logical stepping–stone to the European events that I plan to contest the following year.
