Young ARC competitor, Glen Raymond, has turned his focus to this weekend’s Rally of Melbourne after an exciting two week lead up to the event.

"It has been hard to keep my excitement under wraps," commented Glen. "Now we have closed the deal with Toyota Racing Developments in regards to the purchase of the Group N (P) Corolla, I can now start to focus on this weekend’s event.”

The Rally of Melbourne will be Glen’s last outing in the Bendigo Bank Impreza WRX STI, which will be rebuilt in preparation for sale to make room for the new Corolla.

"I will miss the STI when it goes. We have put so much work into the car and the maintenance and development we have done has allowed us to stay in touch with the later model cars. I would love to see the car stay in the ARC, but if it doesn't it’s more than capable of winning at state level."

The team hope to carry over their form from last month’s Great Lakes Rally of NSW and a fifth overall placing in that event.

When asked to comment on the team’s strategy this weekend, Team Owner Roy Raymond commented: "Our strategy will not change from NSW. The only difference is that we have increased our Michelin tyre budget for this weekend. We will give Glen and Matt all the physical and financial support they need to better their fifth outright in NSW."

With the Bendigo Bank team currently sitting in equal eighth position, the Rally of Melbourne will be a chance for the team to further improve their overall standings in preparation for next year’s ARC campaign.
