Only seen on the asphalt events when they are allowed are the traditional team safety crews, experienced rallymen who have been known over the years as ice note or gravel note crews, and by the French as “Ouvreurs”.   

Hayden Paddon will have Australian Brendan Reeves driving his 'gravel note' car during the Monte Carlo Rally.The drivers expected to be working hard at Monte Carlo this year are the following, but whether spectators will see them or not is another matter.  They usually have to drive the stages hours before the first rally car is due.
