Brendan Reeves will return to competition on October 18 when he contests the Akademos Rally, round 6 of the Victorian Rally Championship.

After winning the event last year, Reeves is excited about returning to the forests around Alexandra and is looking forward to getting behind the wheel again.

Sitting alongside Reeves for the rally will be experienced international co-driver, Ben Atkinson.  Whilst regular co-driver Rhianon Smyth is progressing extremely well in her recovery from two broken legs, she will not be ready to jump into the co-driver's seat just yet!   Atkinson, a former co-driver to his brother Chris in the World Rally Championship, is the current Asia Pacific Champion co-driver, alongside Cody Crocker.

Reeves' 'wheels' for the rally will be his own Subaru STI which he used at the Queensland Asia Pacific round earlier in the year to qualify for the Pirelli Star Driver competition. He will spend the next two weeks fine tuning and testing the car ahead of the rally.

"I'm really happy to be preparing myself for a rally again and getting back into the groove of driving competitively," Reeves said.  "I have worked for Rallyschool.com.au over the past two weekends, getting some valuable time in a car and feeling comfortable."

"Thanks to everyone who has helped and aided Rhianon and I, especially friends and family, and to Australian Race and Rally for getting my car prepped for me in the last few weeks," he added.
