The Reeves Racing crew of Nathan Reeves and Scott Spedding had a trouble-free start to the 2007 Victorian Rally Championship in their new Subaru Impreza RS. Â
Fighting above its weight, the non-turbo RS was always going to battle for outright speed against other turbo cars in the P5 class. Â Â "The car also suffered from having open diffs in the wet, which caused major traction problems, but all in all we were happy with the result, being the first event in the car," co-driver Spedding said.Â
After winning the P3 class in a Datsun 1600 in last year’s VRC, the team purchased the ex-Subaru Australia course car and began a rebuild exercise just after Christmas. They are hoping to make more changes to the car over the coming rounds, in an effort to chase down Nathan's siblings, brother and sister duo, Brendan Reeves and Rhiannon Smyth in a more developed Subaru Impreza RS, and who finished in fifth outright.Â
Reeves and Spedding finished eleventh in an event that saw several of the series favourites fail to finish.  The team would like to thank the following for their support and assistance in preparing the car for the first round:  Reeves Earthmoving Greg Lyle Panel Works Kyabram Innes Motors Subaru Bendigo Morris Motors Kyabram Jayell & Delatite Ford (Kyabram, Benalla, Mansfield and Wangaratta) Motion Exhaust Bendigo CeraSport Race Engineering Ballarat Brown Davis Motorsport Sefton Electrical Kyabram Oz Signs & Design Kyabram Tonkin Auto Electrical Charlton  The Reeves Racing crew is now focusing on the second round of the VRC, the East Gippsland Stages on May 5.
