Sunshine Coast resort Oaks Oasis, Caloundra, has this week signed a mutually beneficial sponsorship agreement with one of the region’s largest annual sporting events, the International Rally of Queensland, that will see the event return to the property for the next three years.
Competitors from overseas, including Europe, India and Asia, and all around Australia will call Oaks Oasis their ‘home away from home’ during this year’s event, running from Friday 20 June – Sunday 22 June.
The resort has also been named as the official organisational and media headquarters of the Rally, lending its impressive conferencing and events venues and facilities.
General Manager of Sales for Oaks Hotels & Resorts Daniel Csortan said: “We are thrilled to welcome back the International Rally of Queensland for the next three years. The event has found its way into the hearts of Queenslanders and rally-enthusiasts from all over and it really brings a buzz to Caloundra and Oaks Oasis alike.
“It is also greatly beneficial to other tourism operators in the region who can capitalise on the thousands of visitors and spectators who flock to the Sunshine Coast for the weekend event.”
This year’s festivities kick off from Friday 20 June, with the free Ceremonial Start street party giving locals the chance to meet the drivers, see the cars and enjoy a smorgasbord of food, drinks and entertainment before the competition kicks off on Saturday at Imbil Forest, running through until Sunday afternoon.
After experiencing the exhilarating rally action by day or night, Oaks Oasis is inviting competitors, VIPs and guests to retreat to the tropical surroundings of the resort and its comfortable coastal-inspired accommodation.
And for those still fired up and not yet ready to retire, they can splash around in the fully heated water play park, dive into the lagoon-style pool and spa, enjoy a game of tennis on the floodlit court, or indulge in a tasty meal and well-earned drink at the popular restaurant and bar.
Oaks Oasis’ Reflections Restaurant and Bar will also host a dedicated Rally after park, open to the public on Sunday evening.
Event Director Paul Woodward said: “Oaks Oasis is perfectly suited to the needs of a large event such as ours, with a range of different accommodation rooms for groups and individuals all with wireless internet access, plus complimentary on-site parking, a restaurant and bar, myriad leisure facilities and state of the art conference venues.”
