Scott gains new sponsors for Rally of Queensland

BEKO Home Appliances has joined Bi Rite Electrical to sponsor Hugh Scott in his Datsun 1600 ahead of the Australian Classic Rally Challenge at this weekend’s International Rally of Queensland.

“We hope to put on a show and expose Beko and Bi Rite to all the rally fans out there,” Scott said.

Luckily for Scott, of Brisbane Whitegoods Factory Outlet, the Managing Director of Beko, Mike Goadby, is a huge motorsport fan, which made persuading he and Bi Rite to come on board a little easier.  

“We are a Bi Rite member and have been selling lots of Beko products in our stores, and like our classic Datsun they represent durable old fashioned quality and value.“

Rally of Queensland will be only the second rally for this car and the crew has been working hard since battling a number of handling issues, fuel starvation and eventually a blown head gasket on debut at the Border Ranges Rally last August.  

With a more positive test at the recent TBR Motorsport Rallysprint, Hugh and co-driver Mike Anderson are hoping for a strong finish.
