Leading Australian rally driver Scott Pedder has been appointed to the Board of Rallycorp, which manages the Australian Rally Championship.

Pedder’s appointment as a competitors’ advisor was announced today by the Chairman, Ben Rainsford.

He brings extensive experience to the position, having competed for more than 10 years in local, state and international rallies. He won the Victorian Rally Championship twice and drove for two seasons in the Mitsubishi Ralliart Australia factory team. Moreover, Pedder has been actively involved in the development of one of Australia’s best known automotive brands.

Rainsford said Pedder would make an important addition to the Board as it prepared to launch a revitalised Australian Rally Championship in 2009.

“Scott’s perspective as a successful competitor will be invaluable as we introduce two-wheel-drive and Showroom categories in the six-round calendar. He looks forward to hopefully seeing new manufacturer teams comepte in the ARC in 2009,” Rainsford said.

“He is widely respected by fellow competitors. The Australian Rally Championship will also benefit from his considerable business experience.”

Pedder will serve on the Board with Rainsford, Steve Ashton and Errol Bailey.
