“After losing fourth gear in SS12 we didn’t think we would make it to the end of Saturday, but to have finished the rest of the rally is awesome.” Ryan said after the podium presentation.
“It’s a shame that we couldn’t have battled with “young gun” Nathan Quinn, Scott Pedder and Eli Evans to the finish line. It was a tough event and a lot of cars were damaged - we were just lucky that it wasn’t us leaving the forest on a trailer this time.”
Ryan and Rebecca’s Toyota team mates, Simon and Margot Knowles, also finished the rally in a strong position despite suffering with overheating problems all weekend.
Ryan and Rebecca are hoping to go one better in Round Four of the Australian Rally Championship, Rally South Australia, which will be held in the Barossa Valley from June 23 to 25.
