The Fullerton Financial Services Evo 6 of Ryan and Rebecca Smart have one aim at the Queensland Rally Championship final round at Jimna – to win the title.

Philcomm Rally Jimna is the stage for a showdown between the top four crews. Smart leads the championship on 73 points, ahead of Erik Johnsson on 71, Simon Knowles on 69 and Michael Bailey on 64. Stephen Tonna, on 50 points, has not entered.  All four crews can theoretically win the championship.

“We had a great start to the season with back-to-back wins at both rounds of coates Rally Queensland, but at Urbenville we only picked up a few points after hitting a bank,” Ryan said. “This means we have to finish in front of the other title contenders at Jimna to win.”

The Fullerton Financial Services Evo 6 was quickly repaired after the Urbenville round and with a respray is ready to go at the Philcomm Jimna Rally.

“Urbenville was a wake up call,” he added. “We’ve had some great results at the Rally of Canberra and the KCF rounds, but I’m still learning in my first year in a turbo 4WD, so that’s made me more determined to put in a solid performance at Jimna. I have to drive consistently and quickly, and being second car on the road is a good position to start.  We’re looking forward to the event.”

Ryan and Rebecca have support for the event from Fullerton Financial Services, Alliance Airlines, Silverstone Tyres and Yandina Automotive Repairs.
