Molly Taylor has completed another successful season in the British Rally Championship, finishing second in class in the final round of the 2010 series, Trackrod Rally Yorkshire, at the weekend.  The result means the young Australian driver finished third outright in the hotly-contested Citroen Racing Trophy series in only her first season competing in the C2R2.

To cap off a successful year, Taylor was also awarded the title of British Ladies Rally Champion for the second year in a row.

After Saturday's Rally Yorkshire, Taylor said, "It was a tough weekend with some real ups and downs. The Yorkshire roads are incredibly fast which can prove quite interesting when you hit slippery wet clay half way around long 5th gear corners. We were lucky there was nothing in a few hedges! We had some lighting issues on Friday night and a puncture on a long stage on Saturday.

"The Yorkshire Rally last year was bone dry with incredible grip, so the slippery clay conditions this year were a real surprise - it was another ball game altogether.

"We were happy to have set some second fastest stage times, however a bit disappointed not to have been a bit higher up, but we had to look at maintaining our position in the Championship and couldn’t afford to take any unnecessary risks.

"It’s been a really big year for me and would not have been possible without the support I’ve received from the Australian Motor Sport Foundation, my sponsors, VDG and Summit Innovations, and all the members of my supporters group. My service crew and all the guys back in Ireland have been amazing. Most of these guys have all helped out as volunteers so I am incredibly appreciative of that. And to finish where we did for the year, I don’t think I could have asked for much more given my experience and the learning curve I’ve been on.

The Citroen is such a great car to drive and I’m so thankful to the McCormack family for giving me the opportunity. I can’t believe the season is over for the year already."
