Victorians Les Adams and Chris Aggenbach had a major accident on the Rally of the Bay that forced the 'Run to Mogo' to be cut short.
The pair had made the trek north in their Datsun 1600, but two-thirds of the way through the 45km stage they ran wide, hit an earth bank and their car rolled several times.
Adams emerged from the wreckage relatively unscathed, but Aggenbach suffered a broken collarbone and broken fingers.
The stage was stopped as medical crews attended the scene, before crew members were transported to hospital.
Because the medical intervention vehicles were attending the accident on stage five, stage six was eventually cancelled as event resources were being stretched.
Once back in place, the final stage ran without incident.
Aggenbach will undergo surgery in Canberra early this week, but was in good spirits when contacted by RallySport Magazine.
We wish him all the best for a speedy recovery and return to rallying.
