World Rally Champion, Ott Tanak, is back in competition this weekend when he contests the Viru Rally in his homeland of Estonia.
Tanak will drive his factory prepared Hyundai i20 WRC event in the rally, and can't wait to get back into competition mode.
“I am glad that the team(Hyundai) allows us to keep our hands warm again on the home roads. We have just completed a productive test in Finland and now it is important to get back to the rhythm of the competition," Tanak said.
"The roads of Virumaa have always been kind of challenging and we need it right now. In the early years of my career, I spent a lot of time at the Kehala Rally Complex and look forward to trying them out on a new generation WRC.”
Andrea Adamo, Director of Hyundai Motorsport, added" “Despite the fact that this year's WRC season is still on hold, we have decided to start testing because we want to be ready for the upcoming stages.
"Participating in the Viru Rally is very important for the whole team, because it will help us go back to our usual routine.
"I have said it before, but I only have good memories of Estonia and I believe that Ott and Martin's participation in the Viru Rally with the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC will delight many rally fans. ”
The last time Tanak drove on the roads of Virumaa in competition was in 2013. This year's rally offers 7 stages with a total length of 88.40km.
