Rally Tasmania’s sister event, Rallye Burnie, has been renamed the “Tasmanian Tarmac Challenge”, and will take place on October 4 and 5 this year.

Details of the renamed event were announced at Targa Tasmania this week, with Event Manager, Scott Spedding, giving details of the event, which will include around 190 kilometres of competitive stages over the two days of the rally.

The rally will still be based in Burnie, on the state’s north west coast, with iconic stages such as Hellyer Gorge and Savage River making up the majority of the competitive distance.

With a compact route and schedule, and a central service park, the Tasmanian Tarmac Challenge promises to be one of the most competitor friendly events on the tarmac rally calendar.

Travel packages, which include shipping, flights and accommodation will be made available to competitors, and supplementary regulations will be available soon.
