David Nalbandian, the former world class tennis player turned Argentine championship rally driver, had a spectacular accident on the penultimate stage of the Entre Rios Rally, the second last round of this year's series.

David Nalbandian crashed heavily on the Entre Rios Rally in Argentina.Nalbandian lost control of his Chevrolet Agile Maxi Rally on a jump over a cross roads when lying seventh overall.

The event was won by the Fiesta Maxi Rally of Federico Villagra, beating Agile team leader Marcos Ligato.  

Ligato, however, wins the championship with one round to go, having already a total of a half point ahead of the maximum which Villagra could gain after the final round in five weeks' time.
