Canberra junior Tristan Kent, 19, will continue his quest to qualify for the Rallyschool.com.au Australian Junior Challenge (RAJC)  at the Scouts Rally of SA on the weekend of 30/31 July.

Tristan was the hot pacesetter at Rally of Queensland and was surprising many to be 5th outright in Heat One and comfortably leading the RAJC. However he unfortunately came to grief on the super special stage commencing Heat Two ending his chances of taking out the RAJC class.

However not to be daunted Tristan was determined to get the car ready for the Scouts Rally of SA. Unfortunately due to a number of circumstances the orange Mitsubishi Evo 2 simply won't be ready in time.  Never one to give up Tristan has now put  Plan B  into action. Tristan's father Mark Kent has offered his Mitsubishi Evo rally car  to Tristan for SA and it is now being overhauled to be reliable for the event. While this car is somewhat less powerful than Tristan's own car,  Mark's generous offer allows Tristan a chance to qualify for the RAJC final. Tristan is hoping that with a good set of pacenotes and trying to keep road speed up on the classic SA roads he can still be competitive in the event even with the change of car. One thing you can be sure of is he will be giving it a red hot go!

In another change for Tristan, the very experienced Jim Gleeson will be joining the team as co-driver for SA. Jim has been navigating at all levels of the sport since 1979 and hopefully his experience will also help Tristan in the quest for an RAJC victory.

Tristan would like to acknowledge the support of his dad Mark Kent, and his hardworking sponsors Autotech Services Canberra and Mark Butcher from DSA (Driver Skills Australia) Motorsport.
