Qatar's Nasser Al-Attiyah won the 2006 Troodos Rally on Sunday, the penultimate round of the 2006 FIA Middle East Rally Championship (MERC), securing his second consecutive MERC title.
Attiyah with a Subaru Impreza secured an easy victory, since he scored the fastest times in eleven of the twelve special stages of the two-day event. This is his fourth consecutive victory in the Troodos Rally.
Cypriot Andreas Tsouloftas aboard a Mitsubishi Lance EVO IX finished second, while UAE's Suhail AL Maktoum, Attiyah's arch-rival in the Middle East Championship, aboard a Subaru Impreza, finished third.
