The Australian Rally Championship is set to make a welcome return to Victoria in 2010.

The event is calendared to be the final round of both the Australian and Victorian Rally Championships and will take place on Saturday, November 13.

The event promotor is the Cerberus Car Club Inc., with Clerk of Course, Alan Mackay, heading up a team of experienced officials and rally organisers.

The event will take place on roads not used by an Australian Rally Championship event since the 1970s, but some parts will be familiar to the local Victorian championship rally crews.

Planned to be held primarily within the Baw Baw Shire using the popular forest roads around the Nojoee and Neerim district, the event will be based in the nearby town of Drouin, located just over 100km from Melbourne’s CBD, and is easily accessed by the Monash and Princes freeways.

The event organisers would like to thank the members of the Victorian Rally Advisory Panel, the board of the Australian Rally Championship, the Department of Sustainability and Environment, Tankformers and Activ Rallysport for their assistance in bringing the event to fruition and the ARC back onto Victorian soil.

A media event launch is planned for early in the New Year and details will be provided as they come to hand, along with regular updates of the event’s preparations.
