After the unfortunate cancellation of the Rally of Camden Haven in July, competitors for the 2009 RaceBrakes Sydney NSW Excel Series were ready to rumble in Canberra at the Corsa de Mille Pinni (Race of 1000 Pines).

With the championship still tightly contested, all the regular Excel competitors were entered, with the exception of Dave Roberts, who was intending to officiate at the event.

Unfortunately, the event had to be cancelled due to weather and forestry concerns, which will mean the next event in the Excel Series will be the Bay Stages Rally in Batemans Bay on October 24.

The series had added an event to the calendar to replace the cancelled Camden Haven event. Rally of the Hastings, hosted by the Hastings Valley Sporting Car Club will fill the calendar slot on November 28, but with the end of the year looming, the likelihood of a replacement event for the Corsa de Mille Pinni is looking slim.

With no change to the series point scores until the next event, the title chase currently looks like this:

Race Brakes Sydney NSW Excel Series Point scores after Round 3:
Drivers: 1st Fro Horobin 62, 2nd Crazy Dave Roberts 58, 3rd Andrei Artamonov 51
Co-Drivers: 1st Kirrilee Gentleman 44, 2nd Ben Cullen 41, 3rd Bek Flett 32
