Australian Chris Atkinson (Volkswagen Golf) won the opening round of the Chinese Rally Championship held at Deng Feng in Central China near Zhengzhou.   David Higgins substituted for brother Mark, but crashed their Subaru.

Third round of the FIA Codasur regional champions was the Rally of Catamarca in the north of Argentina, held concurrently with the fourth round of the national Argentino championship.  Overall winner was Codasur driver Gustavo Saba (Skoda Fabia R5).  He finished a minute ahead of the national category winner, Geronimo, Padilla who beat fellow Fiesta MR driver Federico Villagra.

Last weekend’s Canadian championship Rocky Mountain Rally in British Columbia was won by Antoine l’Estage in a Subaru WRX.   At the same time the Sol Rally Barbados was won by Jeffrey Panton’s Focus WRC, in front of Roger Skeet’s Subaru WRC.  In third place was guest driver Elfyn Evans in a Fiesta R5 Evo.

Croatian driver Juraj Sebalj won the Ina Delta Rally, round of the FIA Central European Rally Trophy in a Mitsubishi Evo IX.

Norwegian Skoda driver Ole Christian Veiby won the Enset Oy championship rally in Finland, run near Tampere, beating the national champion Juha Salo’s Peugeot R5.

While their 2014  winner Teemu Suninen was away winning WRC2 in Sardinia, the organisers of the Finnish WRC have announced they are searching for a 2016 “Future Rally Star of Finland” candidate.

Citroen Racing confirm that aerodynamic work was central to their recent 2017 World Rally Car test in Finland.   “Experience gained during WTCC Citroen Elysee development has been widely put to use.  Not everything was transferable but we have saved time in utilising proven solutions,” Citroen reported.
