Main weekend winners were Jasper van den Heuvel (Ford Fita R5) who won the Hellendoorn Rally, sixth round of the Dutch national championship. He finished ahead of Bernhard ten Brink’s Skoda Fabia R5 Evo and Bob de Jong’s Hyundai i20 R5. Ole Christian Veiby, Volkswagen Polo GTI R5, won the Rally Hedenmarken, sixth round of the Norwegian national series in front of Anders Grundal‘s new generation Fiesta R5. Over in Slovenia, Nikolay Gryazin won the Nova Gorica Slovenia and Croatia championship rally in a Volkswagen Polo GTI R5, a test run in preparation for the forthcoming Wales Rally GB. = = = =

Three drivers are fighting for the FIA’s 2019 European Championship title, the penultimate round of which will be held next weekend (27-29 September) in Cyprus. The 25-year old English driver, Chris Ingram, leads the Russian, Alexey Lukyanuk, by one point and Polish driver Lukasz Habaj is nine points further back. Drivers score their best six scores from the eight round championship. The final round is in Hungary at the start of November.
